Replacing the sealant around your swimming pool coping and deck is a common maintenance procedure that can help increase the longevity of its use. Just as you would replace the dry, cracked caulk in your bathtub and shower, it is important to replace the sealant around your deck to prevent water damage.

Mastic is a self-leveling liquid caulk that prevents moisture and water from penetrating below your deck, causing it to heave or fall. Homeowners can simply purchase tubes of mastic and caulk the expansion joints and areas between the swimming pool deck and coping, or a professional can be hired for approximately $300.
